Bad News
Our MySpace page still is not up and running for us. We'll probably have it all fixed next week. You can still check out the page but we are not able to log on and check comments or emails right now.
Our November 1st show isn't looking too great right now. The Outer Rim cancelled our show. We are looking into switching venues and still playing that night but nothing is set at the moment. We'll hopefully have that all figured out in the next couple days and we'll be sure to update you as soon as we know what's going on with that.

Updates
Last nights practice went extremely well. We decided on our set list for the November 1st show at the Outer Rim and think that it's going to be a great show.
Here are the bands we will be playing with:
Massacre at the Wake, A Balance of Power, Of What May Come, Six Guns Beyond Denmark, 30min One Just Dropped out.
Our MySpace page is currently not up and running so if you want to get a hold of us email OCCIDISband@gmail.com. We hope to have the MySpace account up and running again soon so we can check on emails and communicate with our fans and other bands on there.
We are working on setting up a Facebook page so look for that in the next couple days and be sure to add it to your pages lists.

Battle of the Bands Update/November 1st Show
We have pretty much given up on Gorilla Productions getting us a finals round scheduled for October. I have called/emailed them weekly since our July 20th show and have received no response back with the exception of an email earlier this month stating that they had a show available and would like us to call them back (which we did several times and were never answered). So, don't be looking for details about that show anytime soon. If they do schedule one we will be more than happy to play it but at this point we aren't planning on it.
Onto bigger and better news. One of our fans, Big Red, has set up a headlining show for us at the Outer Rim on Saturday, November 1st. When I have more details and tickets available for that I will post the details about it.
Keep checking back for more news and updates. I'll work on being better about updating the blog more regularly.

OCCIDIS Updates
Hey OCCIDIS fans!
I haven't posted any updates lately because I have been waiting on word about when finals will be for Gorilla Productions Battle of the Bands. Unfortunately, I still don't have any information about that. Hopefully we will know more within the next week.
We still haven't seen any pictures or videos from the July 20th show. If anyone has some we would love to see them (and we may be easily persuaded to giving anyone with good/multiple pictures free merchandise in exchange).
Other than that we've just been practicing hard and writing new songs.
As soon as we have details about the finals show we may be interested in recruiting for a street team. If anyone is interested email us at OCCIDISband@gmail.com

Hey OCCIDIS fans!!!
If you were at last nights show you already know that OCCIDIS put on a great show and took it all.

Thanks to their support OCCIDIS won last nights Battle of the Bands and will be moving on to the finals where they will compete for studio time (more details on the show to come).
Thank you to everyone that turned out!!!
If anyone has pictures/video from the show we would love to see/post them. Please email them to OCCIDISband@gmail.com

OCCIDIS Tattoos
OCCIDIS has some true, hardcore fans. There are people out there that have OCCIDIS or the OCCIDIS -I- tattoo'd on their bodies. These fans rock! I just want to show off some of the artwork.
If you have an OCCIDIS tattoo email a picture of it to OCCIDISband@gmail.com and I'll post it up here too. Also, if you are on MySpace post your picture on MySpace and tag it to our "tagged photos" album. We want to see and recognize those of you out there that have always been there and are dedicated fans.
Show Some Support!
Hey OCCIDIS fans! As you should all know by now OCCIDIS will be competing in Gorilla Productions Battle of the Bands this Sunday, July 20th at the Avalon.
The line up is based on ticket sales and OCCIDIS was given 100 to sell but hasn't made it there yet and there are only a few more days left before the show. They need some support from their fans.
To make the deal sweeter (sweeter than seeing this kick ass band back together on stage) Anyone that purchases 5 or more tickets will receive a free OCCIDIS shirt and a half dozen OCCIDIS stickers. Anyone that buys less than 5 tickets will get free stickers equal to how many tickets they sold (i.e. you sell 2 tickets you get 2 stickers).
To buy tickets call or text Candice 801-649-9486 or email OCCIDISband@gmail.com

Story behind PMS
To hear PMS and read the lyrics go to: http://www.myspace.com/occidis
PMS is about a girl that gets uteral cancer and has her uterus removed. A side effect of having it removed is that she can't have her period anymore. She gets depressed about that and feels like she is no longer a woman so when it's that time of the month she kills girls and rips them apart and lets their blood run down her legs.

Story behind Peel
I'm a little late getting the back story of a song out this week.
This week I'll tell you a little bit about Peel.
Peel is about a man in his 30s who is mentally handicap. His father was a taxidermy and had taught him about taxidermy and told him that death wasn't the end of things but rather a new beginning.
The man accidentally poisons his parents and after they are dead he gives them their new beginning by skinning them and wearing them at dinner every night.

Story Behind Imber
Fans of OCCIDIS might already know the lyrics to the songs (and they can be found on the OCCIDIS myspace page http://www.myspace.com/occidis) but not many people know the stories behind the songs so I've decided that every week I will post the backstory to the songs on here so that fans can know more about the band and about what they are telling you.
The first story I'm going to tell you about is Imber.
Imber is based on Elizabeth Bathory, a Hungarian Countess that has been labelled the most infamous serial killer in Central European history and is remembered as the "Blood Countess," "Countess Dracula" and as the "Bloody Lady of Csejte."
She is believed to have murdered over 650 young women (in a 25 year period) and bathing in their blood in attempt to regain her youth.
She got her start as a murderess when one of her young servants was brushing her hair and pulled her hair. Elizabeth hit her and got blood on her hand. When she went to wipe the blood away she noticed that her skin looked younger and thought that blood was the answer to the fountain of youth and so she began torturing and killing servant girls and local peasants.
Her methods of torture are said to have been severe beatings, burning and mutilation of the victims, biting, freezing and starving to death and bad surgery.

Band merchandise is being made and printed right now and should be available in the next week or two.
OCCIDIS has a photoshoot coming up in about two weeks so look for new photos of the band around the 17th.
If anyone has questions about the band, wants me to update you on anything specific, or wants to get involved as part of the street team you may email me at OCCIDISband@gmail.com

OCCIDIS is back!
As the new band manager of OCCIDS I am very excited to announce to the world that OCCIDIS is back together (with some changes made in band members) and that they are getting very close to playing shows again.
For those of you that aren't familiar with OCCIDIS, they are Salt Lake City's biggest and heaviest metal band. Their songs are stories. Each track is another tale, another story, another life. Things they feel and things they've done. People, who most never know about, and may never hear about. They are the storytellers, and OCCIDIS is ready to share their stories.
OCCIDS has matured over the few years they took off and they have written new songs that are sure to blow their fans away.
I will post details about their shows as they draw nearer. I am so excited for the direction that everything is going. Shows promise to be a totally unique experience to Utah.
For those of you that aren't familiar with OCCIDIS check out these links:

Currently merchandise can be found on the myspace link or at http://www.zazzle.com/ keyword OCCIDIS. We are having merchandise made right now and are hoping to have it available in the next couple weeks. It will be for sale at the shows and possibly online.
Keep checking back for details about recordings, merchandise and upcoming shows.
